How to bring one of Europe’s leading energy companies into the web 2.0 era? And thus, be part of the selective club of companies that are able to provide intranet tools that meet the needs of web giants.
Point of view
The principle: a user-centric, collaborative and participative intranet.
A tool that fosters networking, decentralization and targeted information, knowledge sharing and content syndication… it could replace hundreds of existing intranets.
Ideation
• Design a first version in six months, convey innovations and create a first release for usage observation purposes.
• Provide an intuitive user experience across all tools (blogs, wiki, social network, forum, etc.) in order to value exchanged content and accelerate the adoption process.
• Make content dynamic, instead of putting it into separated compartments.
• Value final user’s feedback and needs, and improve the intranet through iterations.
• Help users through the adoption phase.
Results
• A project that was swiftly carried out. In six months we analyzed, designed and developed the Intranet, which is to be used by over 160,000 employees.
• 30,000 profiles were created within two weeks, of the 70,000 employees targeted for the first rollout.
